I need a guard for my bottom teeth to wear during the day. Is it hard to talk with this type of guard?

Yes, for day time use you would want a custom dental guard that is 2mm or less in thickness if you are concerned about talking while wearing the night guard. You can also have the front cut customization feature added to the guard which makes the guard less obtrusive and more comfortable to wear during the day.
